Walk track Mecca Akaroa has become famous for its variety of walks. Ranging from easy to hard, short to four days, completely on your own, or buy food and drink along the way. The walk tracks are in the bush or along coastal paths, private and some you pay a fee, such as the deservedly famous Banks Peninsula Track. There are a number of walk tracks starting and finishing at the door to your retreat at Tree Crop Farm. One of the most popular tracks is the Woodills Track that goes north or south to the village cross country and the new Curry Reserve Track that traces the headwaters of the Grehan Valley Steam to the site of the Antarctic explorer Frank Worsley’s first childhood home. The information centre in Akaroa has photocopies of all walk tracks in the area for a small fee.
